Jockey Zac Purton, who sustained an injury to his right ankle when kicked by a horse prior to batch 2 of this morning’s barrier trials at Sha Tin Racecourse, will return to his medical specialist on Friday, 4 September 2015 at which time the full extent of his injury and his suitability to ride will be determined. In the meantime, the Stewards have permitted Jockey Purton to be declared for race riding engagements at the Sha Tin race meeting to be conducted on Sunday, 6 September 2015, however, standby riders will be declared for all of his engagements. A further release will be issued at the appropriate time in relation to Jockey Purton’s fitness to ride at the aforementioned race meeting. Jockey Purton will not ride trackwork prior to consulting his medical specialist on Friday.
