The final week of this year’s Oktoberfest celebration will be staged at Happy Valley Racecourse this Thursday (22 October), with the Bavarian-themed festival offering tasty German fare and plenty of fun competitions. Race-goers will be able to enjoy authentic food and refreshing ice-cold beer, while on stage the German band Talbachbuam will provide between-races entertainment. The Club’s very own German-born chef Christian Bruhns and his team will serve up traditional German fare at the Beer Garden take-away counters. Popular items include Roast Pork Knuckle with Sauerkraut, Mixed sausages (Cheese Krainer, Muencher and Nurnberger) with Sauerkraut, and Shrimp Cocktail with Beer Jelly. These festive treats are available from HK$33. To complement the food, a total of 12 different beer brands will be on offer. Games including “Hold the Beer” promise to be lots of fun with fantastic prizes for the lucky winners.
