Buffering

Ran creditable 6th to Aerovelocity in last year’s LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint. Then won the G1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on 2 October at first run since return from HK. Followed up with 3.5 lengths 5th to Chautauqua in G1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) on 23 October. Won this race in 2013 and fourth behind Terravista last year.

Chautauqua

Outstanding sprinter with nine wins and six placings from 17 starts and unbeaten in three starts this season. Unleashed trademark big finish to score 2 lengths win from Srikandi in G1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 23 October. Ran head 2nd to Terravista in this race last year.

Boban

Kept fresh for this race since 0.5 lengths 4th to Fawkner in G1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) on 12 September which followed fresh win in the G1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) on 29 August. Better known as a ‘miler’ but could he do an Able Friend and beat the sprinters at their own game?

Terravista

Won the G2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) on 3 October at first run this season. Then blocked for clear run on home turn when 4.6 lengths 7th to Chautauqua in the G1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) on 23 October. Scored narrow win from Chautauqua in this race last year.

Tiger Tees

Stablemate and half brother to Terravista. Fair effort when caught wide and finished 4.55 lengths 6th to Chautauqua in G1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) on 23 October. Has won down the straight course and any rain would increase his prospects.

Flamberge

Last start winner of weaker Listed Durbridge Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on 17 October. Handy sprinter who is a straight course winner and did run second to Chautauqua at 1000m three starts back but probably need luck to win here.

Delectation

Sound effort when 1 length 2nd to Chautauqua in G2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at this track on 4 October. Again ran well last Saturday when 1 length 4th behind Eclair Choice in G2 TAB.com.au Stakes (1200m). Greater depth in this race but has performed well down the straight course.

Srikandi

Resumed from spell with excellent 2 lengths 2nd to Chautauqua in the G1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 23 October. High class sprinting mare likely to be fitter. Won 9 of 14 starts. Untried down the straight course.

Bring Me The Maid

Backs up from last Saturday when 4.2 lengths 8th to Eclair Choice in G2 TAB.com.au Stakes at this course and distance. Best form has been on soft ground.

Lumosty

Impressive dead-heat winner (with subsequent winner Eclair Choice) in the G2 Caulfield Sprint (1000m) on 17 October at first run this season. Unlucky not to have outright after being blocked for clear run. Proven at longer trip and down the straight course.
