1st - Peniaphobia – Joao Moreira, jockey
“I thank God that I was on board him, he was meant to win the race, the way he’s done things today. He gave me a beautiful ride, he’s so professional. I had to use him in the back straight to come across so I wanted to hold on to him as long as I could. We made it and everything was fine.”
2nd - Gold-Fun – Christophe Soumillon, jockey
“He broke fine I had a good trip but no one chased the leader they slowed down on the turn but I just didn’t have enough to come and get them.”
3rd – Not Listenin’tome – Hugh Bowman, jockey
“I was very pleased with the horse. He gave me a two-length kick when I asked him to but it wasn’t quite enough.”
4th - Dundonnell – Douglas Whyte, jockey
“I am very pleased with his run. He got a good spot and he ran very well. He always comes good at this time of year and I won on him this day last year.”
5th - Mongolian Saturday – Florent Geroux
“He ran good. Great trip, was forwardly placed, let the speed go. He was relaxed but maybe a little too relaxed. He was a little surprised and never really took the bit. He didn’t know what to do. He was focused better early in the race but from the quarter-pole to the end, he was a little confused. The experience of this kind of trip will help him.”
6th - Charles The Great – Gerald Mosse, jockey
“I had a lovely run inside. I didn’t come through, but I didn’t have enough horse.”
7th - Mikki Isle – Suguru Hamanaka, jockey
“I wanted to take the lead but the winning horse went faster. He ran well and toughed it until the finish.”
8th - Green Mask – Joel Rosario, jockey
“He ran nice and handled the bend fine. Maybe he was a little closer than he is used to. Anyway, he kept trying to the end.”
9th - Straight Girl – Keita Tosaki, jockey
“She did not jump well so we had to travel wide. She ran very well.”
10th - Lucky Nine – Brett Prebble, jockey
“He didn’t perform.”
11th - Sole Power – Chris Hayes, jockey
“He jumped good and felt great. But he is probably better off on a straight track and does not like the hustle and bustle of going around a bend. He ran a similar race last year and went on to win in Dubai.”
12th - Sakura Gospel – Zac Purton, jockey
“He ran OK but I though he might be able to finish a bit more strongly.”
13th - Rich Tapestry – Pat Smullen, jockey
“He is just a better horse on the dirt I think – the track was a little bit too quick.”
