STRATHMORE - THE LONGINES HONG KONG SPRINT (GROUP 1) SUNDAY, 13 DECEMBER 2015 SHA TIN RACEMEETING

15/12/2015

As previously notified, the Stewards were advised by Dr T S M Wan, Head of Racing Laboratory, that a pre-race urine sample he had analysed for the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 13 December 2015 was found to contain the prohibited substance clenbuterol.  It was subsequently established that the relevant sample was taken from STRATHMORE, trained by Mr A T Millard and a declared runner in the LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint.  After a further urine sample was taken from the horse under post-race conditions, the Stewards acceded to a request from Mr Millard to withdraw STRATHMORE from this race.

The Stewards have been advised by Dr Wan that the further urine sample taken from STRATHMORE under post-race conditions on analysis has also shown the presence of clenbuterol.

Mr Millard has been advised of the analyst's finding.  The independent official racing laboratory which will analyse the referee sample (B sample) has yet to be confirmed.

The matter remains adjourned to a date to be fixed.
