For this Friday’s “Lucky Start January 1 Raceday” (Photo 1), racing fans can enjoy an array of fabulous on-course activities.
Fans coming to Sha Tin Racecourse will receive an all-new “LUCKY” key chain (Photo 2) as a door gift (before the start of Race 6, or while stocks last). Racegoers spinning the “Lucky Wheels” of New Year fortune will also receive a special gift.
Race fans everywhere will also benefit from “Lucky Start” top ups on 1 January. The Triple Trio will be topped up from the Triple Trio Reserve, with the payout for a single $10 winning unit expected to reach $27 million. Meanwhile, the Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool for Race 5 and Race 11 (i.e. the first leg of Triple Trio & the last race respectively) will be topped up with $1 million each.
Meanwhile popular TV actors Louis Cheung (Photo3) and Grace Chan (Photo 4)will lead the Lucky Cheering Team around Sha Tin Racecourse to play mini-games with racegoers and distribute auspicious gifts.
A range of “Lucky Start” themed merchandise specially designed by local designer Dorophy Tang will be on offer exclusively at Sha Tin Racecourse starting on 1 January. Items for sale include a T-shirt, zip up hoodie, backpack, clutch bag, coin bag, coffee mug, umbrella and coach jacket.
On the track, the day’s highlight will be the first two Group races for 2016, the Bauhinia Sprint Trophy (Group 3) and the Chinese Club Challenge Cup (Group 3). There will be 11 races on the day, with the first starting at 12:30 pm. Sha Tin Racecourse will open at 10:30 am for admission.
