Japanese-themed parties return to Happy Valley

04/01/2016

The Japanese wave is back!  To coincide with the Japan Racing Association (JRA) Cup on 20 January, Happy Wednesday will host a trio of Japanese-themed festivals (photo 1, 2, 3, 4) on the nights of 6, 13 and 20 January.  Featuring traditional cultural performances, special on-course decor and a wide range of Japanese dishes, complemented by sake and Japanese whisky, racegoers can be sure of enjoying a total Japanese on-track experience.

Traditional Japanese performances hit the stage
Adding to the pulsating action on the track will be a symphony of drum performances and Japanese traditional dancing. The “O • Daiko” drum performance will keep the party beat going, while traditional Japanese drum dance with a modern twist by Ryusei Daiko from Okinawa will provide a visual delight.

Enjoy a true taste of Japan at Happy Valley
Racegoers can enjoy a taste of Japan with the special trackside food menu. Various types of sake, sake-based cocktails and highly-regarded Japanese whiskies will also be on sale.
