Jockey Chad Schofield, who was stood down following his ride on HOLY STAR in Race 2 at yesterday’s Sha Tin race meeting due to back complaint, has today advised the Stewards that after being discharged from hospital overnight, he has sought further specialist medical advice in relation to his injury. He has further advised that he has been stood down from riding and will not fulfil/ accept riding engagements at the race meetings on Wednesday, 3 February and on Saturday, 6 February 2016. However, he will have physiotherapy treatment and is hopeful of being cleared to return to race riding at the Chinese New Year meeting to be conducted at Sha Tin Racecourse on Wednesday, 10 February 2016. A further release will be issued at the appropriate time advising when Jockey Schofield will be able to resume riding.
