The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting seven races on Golden Slipper Day, Saturday, 19 March, from Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Sydney, Australia (1st race 10:50 am).
A strong cast of two-year-olds will contest the 60th running of the A$3.5 million Golden Slipper (G1 1200m) – the world’s richest race for this age group. The race has been won by some exceptional racehorses in the past and this year’s contenders include the unbeaten EXTREME CHOICE who is looking to become just the sixth horse to complete the Blue Diamond–Golden Slipper double.
The day also features other pattern events which are important lead-ups to The Championships races in early April. The seven races to be simulcast are:
Darby Munro Stakes (Listed 1200m for 3yo)
Ranvet Stakes (G1 2000m for 3yo+)
Rosehill Guineas (G1 2000m for 3yo)
The Galaxy (G1 1100m hcp)
Golden Slipper (G1 1200m for 2yo)
George Ryder Stakes (G1 1500m for 3yo+)
N E Manion Cup (G3 2400m hcp for 3yo+)
Final declarations with barrier draws for the Golden Slipper will be available in the afternoon of Tuesday, 15 March, while the final declarations with barrier draws for the other races will be published on Wednesday, 16 March.
