G1 – 1100m – Turf

Flamberge

Draws wide with big weight but that was also the case when nose winner from Fell Swoop in the G1 Oakleigh Plate at this distance at Caulfeld on 27 February. Underrated sprinter who rarely runs a bad race and capable all track conditions.

Terravista

Top class sprinter unbeaten in two runs at this distance. Returned from spell with arguably unlucky nose 2nd to Chautauqua in G1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on 20 February. Performs wet or dry.

Rebel Dane

Consistent performer at the top level. Comes back in trip from 1.6 lengths 4th to Turn Me Loose in G1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 27 February. Great record this track; drop in distance shouldn’t worry and capable wet or dry.

Our Boy Malachi

Remarkable galloper who has won 18 of 23 starts. Impressive winner of 1200m Expressway Stakes on 30 January at first run after long spell. Then began awkwardly; over-raced and lost a plate when 2.9 lengths 5th to Holler in the G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick on 5 March. Great record dry tracks; unbeaten four starts on soft.

Famous Seamus

Caught wide throughout and rider said would take great benefit from run after 5.7 lengths 11th to Charlie Boy in the G3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Randwick on 27 February. That was first run since G3 win in November. Has won on soft ground but best form good tracks.

Ball Of Muscle

Front-runner likely to be fitter for first run since October when 2.1 lengths 6th to English in the G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March. Placed behind Buffering at most recent G1 run and has won two of three at this distance. Proven wet and dry.

Dothraki

Sound effort from barrier 17 when 2.1 lengths 7th to Flamberge in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 27 February. That was first run since October when G2 third at 1200m at Flemington. Has run very well with starts this course and distance. Has won on good and soft ground.

Lord Of The Sky

Runner-up in the G1 T.J. Smith Stakes at 1200m last April. Resumed from long spell with 6.2 lengths last of ten behind English in the G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March. Fitter now but has to improve sharply. Won wet and dry.

Shiraz

Resumed from spell with closing 0.9 lengths 4th to English in the G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March. Won four of five starts this course and wins are evenly split on good and soft ground.

Bounding

Unsettled in the barriers and had tough run when 2.75 lengths 9th to Flamberge in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 27 February. Unplaced only twice in 17 starts and capable of sharp improvement. Handles wet.

Lumosty

Vet reported slow recovery after performed below expectations when 3.6 lengths 7th to Malaguerra in Listed Hoysted Sprint (1000m) at Flemington on 5 March. That was first run since November and was G2 winner at 1000m last October. Has won on soft ground but best form overall on dry.

Boss Lane

Ran on strongly when 0.6 lengths 3rd to English in the G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March. Poor record, unplaced eight starts, this course is some concern. OK all conditions.

Fell Swoop

Won eight of 11 starts and four in a row before first-up nose 2nd to Flamberge in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 27 February. Great overall record and proven good and soft ground.

English

Ran on strongly to win the G2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March at her first run since April last year. Three wins, one second from five career starts. Only unplaced run was at 1400m on soft ground and which came immediately before the long break from racing.

Pittsburgh Flyer

Finished hard when 0.9 lengths 4th to Flamberge in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 27 February. That was first run since November when won G3 sprint at this distance on heavy ground.

Griante

Blocked for clear run all the way down the straight when 4 lengths 12th to Flamberge in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 27 February and could be sharp improver. Won on good and soft ground.

Malaguerra

Promising galloper who’s won five of past six starts. Impressive 1.75 lengths winner from Grane in Listed Hoysted Sprint (1000m) at Flemington on 5 March. Capable all conditions and extra 100m is a plus. Go well.

Miss Promiscuity

Ran on late when 2.1 lengths 4th to Malaguerra in Listed Hoysted Sprint (1000m) at Flemington on 5 March. Good record this distance and has won on good and soft ground.
