ATC Sires Produce Stakes �V Form Comments

G1 - 1400m – Turf

Telperion

Ran on fairly when 3.4 lengths 4th to Good Standing in G2 Skyline Stakes before powerful finish from 14th at the 400m when 2.4 lengths 4th to Capitalist in the G1 Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on 19 March. Step up to 1400m should suit.

Good Standing

Resumed from spell with sound 0.8 lengths win from Lionhearted in G 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on 27 February. Then struck interference on three occasions when 6.7 lengths 10th to Capitalist in the G1 Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill. Expect better.

Seaburge

Strong winner of the G2 VRC Sires when stepped to this distance at Flemington on 12 March when held out Detective by three quarters of a length. First run right handed but has performed very well at three starts.

Attention

Emerged as a contender for this with sound on-pace win at the distance in last Saturday’s G3 Baillieu Handicap at Rosehill, beating Prized Icon and Crafty Cop. This looks stronger but impressed last week at third career start and only second run of this campaign.

Detective

Has finished second at each of four starts and due a change of luck. Led at good pace and held on well when 0.75 lengths 2nd to Seaburge in G2 VRC Sires (1400m) at Flemington on 12 March.

Chimboraa

Placed three of four starts. Ran on well at latest when head 2nd to Souchez in G2 Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on 12 March with last week’s winner and opponent here, Attention 3.4 lengths behind him.

Rivo Boy

Slow to begin on debut and caught the eye with strong late finish when 0.6 lengths 3rd to Divine Prophet and Sezanne in Kembla Grange 1200m 2YO on 23 March.

Yankee Rose

Won first two starts at 1100m at Rosehill back in October and November. Second of those was strong head win from Good Standing in the Golden Gift on 21 November. Then first-up she produced terrific closing half length 2nd to Capitalist in the G1 Golden Slipper at Rosehill 1200m on 19 March.

Zamzam

Ran on late when 6 lengths 3rd to Extreme Choice in the G1 Blue Diamond (1200m) on 27 February before solid head win from Legless Veuve in Listed St Albans Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 18 March.

Faraway Town

Ran on strongly when 2.8 lengths 5th to Calliope in G2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on 12 March and kept fresh for this. One win was on heavy ground but also capable dry.

Omei Sword

Won on debut at 1100m and then impressed with strong finish when head 2nd to Calliope in the G2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on 12 March. Looks well placed here.

Sparkle

Fair effort at third start when 3.5 lengths 6th to Divine Prophet in Kembla Grange 1200m 2YO on 23 March but would have to improve to win here.
