Chautauqua

Outstanding sprinter with ten wins, eight placings from 20 starts. Strong finishing nose winner from Terravista in G 1 Lightning Stakes at 1000m before 0.9 lengths 3rd to The Quarterback in G 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington 1200m on 12 March. Better suited under the WFA conditions here and did win this race last year.

Flamberge

Drew wide with top weight when nose winner from Fell Swoop in the G 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m)  at Caulfeld on 27 February. Then pushed through late, on fence, to beat Holler by a nose in the G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m, WFA) at Moonee Valley on 24 March. Underrated sprinter who rarely runs a bad race and capable all track conditions.

Delectation

Racing below best but did beat Chautauqua in G 1 Darley Classic at this distance on soft ground in November. Unplaced two runs since. Latest was hampered early and then raced fiercely when 8.9 lengths last of nine behind The Quarterback in G 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on 12 March.

Terravista

Top class sprinter who’s won four of five at the track and distance with the other run being third place in this race last year. Returned from spell with arguably unlucky nose 2nd to Chautauqua in G 1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on 20 February. Then blocked for clear run in straight when 4.5 lengths 9th to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March.

Our Boy Malachi

Remarkable galloper who has won 18 of 23 starts. Impressive winner of 1200m Expressway Stakes on 30 January at first run after long spell. Then began awkwardly; over-raced and lost a plate when 2.9 lengths 5th to Holler in the G 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick on 5 March. Great record dry tracks; unbeaten four starts on soft.

Rebel Dane

Consistent performer at the top level. Back in trip last time when settled long way back before 4.6 lengths 10th to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March. Placed three runs this course and distance including second to Lankan Rupee (with Buffering third) in this race in 2014.

Dothraki

Sound effort from barrier 17 when 2.1 lengths 7th to Flamberge in the G 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 27 February. Then raced handy and held on well when 1.3 lengths 3rd to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March.

Famous Seamus

Caught wide throughout when 5.7 lengths 11th to Charlie Boy in the G 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Randwick on 27 February. Then 5.3 lengths 11th to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March. Has won on soft ground but best  form good tracks.

Shiraz

Sound run 1st-up when 0.9 lengths 4th to English in the G 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March. Then finished hard when 0.8 lengths 2nd to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March. Two from two at 1200m.

Fast ’N’ Rocking

Strong finisher who needs luck his way but past three runs at this distance have yielded 4th to Chautauqua; 3rd to Buffering and most recently 0.9 lengths 4th to Flamberge in the G 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 24 March.

Knoydart

Not raced since October when unplaced on soft ground at Flemington which followed dry track 1.2 lengths 3rd to Chautauqua and Delectation in G 2 Gilgai Stakes at 1200m. Had two recent barriers trials and in the first three at five of six first-up runs.

Boss Lane

Ran on strongly when 0.6 lengths 3rd to English in the G 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March. Then fair when 4 lengths 7th  to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March. Much better record at this track than he does at Rosehill.

Fell Swoop

Won eight of 12 starts and placed on two other occasions. Ran nose 2nd to Flamberge in the G 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 27 February before 1.5 lengths 4th  to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March. Unbeaten three starts at 1200m.

Exosphere

Classy three-year-old who’s won five of nine starts. First start since October when 1.7 lengths 4th to Chautauqua in G 1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on 20 February. Easy winner of Randwick barrier trial on 18 March.

Ran on strongly to win the G 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on 5 March at her first run since April last year. Then came from last when 3.5 lengths 6th to Griante in the G 1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 19 March. Fitter again.
