Three colts from Easter Yearling Sale for HKJC

The Hong Kong Jockey Club picked up three promising colts for a combined outlay of AU$820,000 at Inglis’ three-day Australian Easter Yearling Sale last week (5, 6 & 7 April).

The Club swooped in on the final day to secure Lot 445, an athletic Savabeel half-brother to recent G3 scorer No More Tears, for AU$420,000. The youngster is out of the Minardi mare Ocean Of Tears, a half-sister to G2-winning sprinter Hips Don't Lie and G1 Lightning Stakes third Azevedo from a solid Black Type family that has also produced Macau’s current standout, The Alfonso.

Earlier, the Jockey Club went to AU$240,000 for Lot 429, an Exceed And Excel colt out of the G3-winning mare Music Review, having picked up Lot 23 on day one, a Casino Prince colt out of an unraced daughter of Australasian champion two-year-old Good Faith. The latter, a AU$160,000 purchase, is a half-brother to three winners, among them the Australian G2 sprint winner Believe Yourself.
