CHAUTAUQUA (AUS)
Australia's superstar and currently the world's highest rated sprinter arrived safely in Hong Kong early this morning. He did not appear on the track but was taken for a walk in the quarantine station and his travel was uneventful according to trainer Michael Hawkes.

Hawkes said: “He's good. He travelled up overnight and I'm sure he's ready to go. He'd never travelled on a plane before, but he's been up and down the highway between Sydney and Melbourne numerous times since he was a yearling. He coped well and I was quite surprised how good he was when he got off the plane.

“I travelled with him along with another professional groom and we had John O'Shea's horse Bow Creek with us. I was able to be with the horse during the journey apart from take-off and landing. There was lots of noise with cargo bashing and crashing about but it's not much different really to a float ride with outside noise and stopping at lights etcetera.  Once they are under way they are good. It was thirteen and a half hours door to door, the flight eight hours and 15 minutes.

“He had a good bit of work before he flew out yesterday morning to take the edge off him. Maybe we will do something Friday or Saturday and then have a serious hit out next Tuesday.  He does look superb, he’s done everything right so far.”
