Audemars Piguet QEII Cup Trackwork V Wednesday, 20 April

20/04/2016

DESIGNS ON ROME, WERTHER, HELENE HAPPY STAR (HK)
All three had light exercise this morning.
Trainer John Moore said: “My three will gallop  tomorrow morning at 6 (am). Obviously we'll know more then but I'm very happy with each of them at this stage. I think my horses are peaking at the right time and we're going in with high hopes while acknowledging it's no easy race this year. Designs On Rome has no issues with his joints; Werther's progressed really well since the Derby and Helene Happy Star was very good at the trip two runs ago.”

MILITARY ATTACK (HK)
Trainer Caspar Fownes said: “He is doing very well and his last gallop was quite pleasing (running a final 400m on turf in 22.5s on 13 April). We might work him tomorrow morning around 7:00 am.”

LOVELY DAY (JPN)
Worked on the all-weather under regular rider Joji Yamamoto.
Yamamoto said: “It has been two weeks since his last start (G2 Sankei Osaka Hai on April 3) and he is in good order. We won’t ask him to do too much until the race day.”

SATONO CROWN (JPN)
Satono Crown worked on the all-weather under exercise rider Tomohiro Takahashi.
Takahashi said: “I asked him to work a bit stronger for the last three furlongs, and I think he is as fit as a fiddle. He is getting adjusted to the new surroundings here.”

NUOVO RECORD (JPN)
Nuovo Record worked on the all-weather under work rider Kazuyoshi Aita.
Aita said: “She was relaxed and moved nicely. I checked her response, her canter and her mood for tomorrow’s gallop. She won’t need to be schooled at the paddock ring and the starting gate as she had those experiences last December.”

RISING ROMANCE (AUS)
The David Hayes-trained mare paddock schooled this morning, in company with Chairman's Sprint Prize contender Buffering, under the supervision of assistant trainer Jacob Jelfs.
Jelfs said: “She is fit and well and took everything in her stride this morning; very relaxed.”

ERTIJAAL (UAE)
Schooled in the parade ring.
Assistant trainer Trevor Brown said: “He came out of his work yesterday in great order and cleaned his bowl. His weight has been very constant, which is a good sign, and he was a real gentleman schooling today in the paddock. He is very relaxed and we are still quite happy.”

HIGHLAND REEL (IRE)
Had an easy gallop on the turf this morning, going 1200m in 1m 35.1s (last 400m in 28.2).
Pat Keating, assistant trainer to Aidan O'Brien, said: “I’m happy with him – didn't want him to do much this morning. He’s settled in well and continues to do well.”
