Champions Mile

BOW CREEK (AUS)
Cantered on the all-weather track at his first appearance at Sha Tin since his arrival on Tuesday morning.
Johann Gerard-Dubord, assistant to trainer John O'Shea, said: “We've been happy to give him a couple of easy days after the flight. Obviously he was shipped from England to Australia last year so the flying was nothing new for him and it was great to have Michael (Hawkes) keeping an eye on him as he came up with Chautauqua. He came here fit and he's looking really well. John (O'Shea) comes up next week and the horse won't do much before a gallop on the Thursday before the race.”

Chairman’s Sprint Prize

CHAUTAUQUA (AUS)
Light workout on the all-weather track under his work rider on the morning that Tommy Berry was confirmed as his rider in Sunday week's Sprint.
Trainer Michael Hawkes said: “He's very bright and he looked well cantering this morning. He likes to get on with it when he steps on to the track but all's well. Tommy (Berry) has been confirmed to ride him. We left that decision to dad (John). It was a tough one. Tommy and Dwayne Dunn have both won Group 1 races on the horse and to their credit both riders were happy with whatever we felt was best for the horse here. I spoke to Dwayne at the races recently and he said: ‘whatever happens, happens...I just want the horse to win,’”

BUFFERING (AUS)
Cantered on the all-weather track.
Trainer Robert Heathcote said: “So far, so good, he's ticking over really well.”

MONGOLIAN SATURDAY (USA)
Galloped 800m on the all-weather track under Santiago Aragon in 52.8s (28.8, 24.0).
