Champions Mile

BOW CREEK (AUS)
Cantered on the all-weather track and is expected to have a more serious hit-out on the turf tomorrow morning after the arrival, today, of trainer John O'Shea.

CONTENTMENT (HK)
Worked 800m on the all-weather track in 58.8s (32.6, 26.2.)

MAURICE (JPN)
Hacked at a leisurely half pace on the turf course.
Assistant trainer, Toru Munakata said: “He has settled. He was training well, just as he was in Miho Training Center in Japan. Everything is okay so far. We're planning to ask Joao Moreira to ride him tomorrow for the fast track work on the turf.”

PACKING PINS (HK)
Trainer Ricky Yiu said: “It was a really good run last time at the 1200m, after a long break, and I thought he went really well in his last barrier trial. We’ll see what the weather does but the plan is to do some fast work tomorrow on the all-weather track – if it’s too wet we might try the grass. It would be good if we can get the usual ground conditions for him – normal is what we want. It’s going to be a fast pace; he’ll be a good 1400-metre/miler in the long run.”

SAFETY CHECK (UAE)
Worked on turf in 1m 24.9s (29.2, 31.2, 24.5).
Track rider and English Derby-winning former jockey Willie Ryan said: “He feels very well, although the track was a touch soft for his liking.”
