Chairman’s Sprint Prize

AMAZING KIDS (HK)
Worked 400m on the all-weather in 25.3s.

BUFFERING (AUS)
Cantered on the all-weather under David Hayes' employee Alexandra Slattery, who came off the bench, in the absence of the horse's regular rider Melanie Sharpe who was unwell.
Slattery said: “Felt terrific, lovely horse.”

CHAUTAUQUA (AUS)
Cantered on the all-weather track before paddock schooling.
Trainer Michael Hawkes said: “All good, he's full of life.”

Michael Hawkes, his brother Wayne and father John (who train as a partnership in Australia) accompanied the horse to the parade ring.
John Hawkes said about the significance of exposing the horse to the experience of the paddock: “The little things are important. We're just covering all bases. It is a game of inches so any little thing that might help is worth doing. It certainly doesn't hurt for him to know where he is going on race day. He's not a hot horse but he does get a bit 'bouncy'. He'll be fine with all the hullabaloo on race day, there's been plenty of that when he's run on big days at Flemington.”

DIVINE BOY (HK)
Trainer Me Tsui said: “I was very happy with the barrier trial yesterday. The last bit he always goes by himself, there’s no need to be too firm with him. He’s a good horse, one or two reminders and he goes himself. He’ll be coming from behind on Sunday – I expect it will be a fast pace and we don't want to use him up going too fast in the first 800m. Derek (Leung) will settle him back and the horse will run on. I hope the rain will stop!”

STRATHMORE (HK)
Trainer Tony Millard said: “He’s going good, we’ll just freshen both horses over the next few days, they don't need much, they’re well – you can't make them fit now in the last few days. Super Jockey is a class horse and Strathmore is on the way up. The draw is going to be critical for this race.”

SUPER JOCKEY (HK)
Trainer Tony Millard said: “He hurt his foot in Dubai but he’s okay, he missed a little bit of work after that but I’m happy with him. Karis (Teetan) rode him and he says he is going good. The ground’s going to be what it’s going to be. As long as the rail has moved out past the damaged ground from last Sunday, it should be pretty fair.”

THEWIZARDOFOZ (HK)
Worked 800m on the all-weather in 57.9s (32.2, 25.7).
