Chairman��s Sprint Prize �V Form Comments

1. CHAUTAUQUA
Come-from-behind racer. 11-time winner at 1000m-1400m. 4-time G1 winner. 5 from 7 this term and kicked off with pair of G2 wins. Followed up with impressive G1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) win around Moonee Valley��s sharp left-hander in October. Outpointed by Delectation when 2nd in November��s G1 Darley Classic (1200m). Nicked G1 Lightning (1000m) at wire in February off 3-month spell. Passed by a low-weighted deeper closer when 3rd in G1 Newmarket (1200m) under top-weight. Brilliant deep charge wide off turn in G1 T. J. Smith (1200m) at right-handed Randwick latest. No going issues.

NG>2. AEROVELOCITY
Won G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint, G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen and G1 KrisFlyer International Sprint at 1200m last season. Below-par early part of this term and missed defending Hong Kong Sprint title. Returned in devastating form to win HKG1 Centenary Sprint Cup at course and distance in January from Gold-Fun. Aborted Takamatsunomiya Kinen in March after minor bout of colic in Japan. Hangs into rail. Races handily and can lead. Relishes fast track. Untried on soft.

3. GOLD-FUN
High-class miler-turned-sprinter. Runner-up in two editions of LONGINES Hong Kong Mile and in December��s G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (1200m), behind Peniaphobia. Won HKG1 Chairman��s Sprint Prize in February 2015 on first career start at 1200m. Added G2 Jockey Club Sprint (1200m) in November. 1.5L 2nd to Aerovelocity in January��s HKG1 Centenary Sprint Cup (1200m). Below-par 4th latest in G1 Queen��s Silver Jubilee Cup (1400m), a race he won in 2014. No ground issues. Sits mid-pack for closing run.

NIAPHOBIA
3 course and distance wins include December��s G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint from Gold-Fun. Stole a lead that day and was never headed. Only win from six starts this term. Hampered by winner in stretch but looked beaten when 3rd to Aerovelocity in HKG1 Centernary Sprint Cup (1200m) in January. Fine 1L 3rd latest to Buffering in G1 Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) at Meydan, Dubai.

STRONG>5. BUFFERING
Consistent veteran with 20 wins, nine seconds and eight thirds from 52 starts. Won first G1 at 18th attempt in October 2013 Manikato Stakes. Now has seven G1 wins. Injured when 6th in 2014 G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint at course and distance. Returned in October, 2015 to win G1 Moir Stakes (1000m). Behind Chautauqua in G1 Manikato and G1 Darley Classic then made all to win G1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) in November. Made all for minor 1300m win in January. Overhauled Peniaphobia to win G1 Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) in Dubai latest. Sits handy or can lead. Handles cut but best on sound surface.

6. NOT LISTENIN��TOME
Secured a G3 win and two G1 2nd placings in Australia (1200m & 1300m) prior to import. 4 wins from 13 Hong Kong starts include May 2015 HKG3 Sha Tin Vase Handicap at course and distance. 3rd to Peniaphobia in December��s G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (1200m). Kicked off 2016 with 1000m win in HKG3 Bauhinia Sprint Trophy Handicap. Tame 7th to Aerovelocity in late January HKG1 Centenary Sprint Cup (1200m). Last-gasp win in 1000m Class 1 early March. Flat run from poor draw in G1 Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) latest.  

NG>7. LUCKY BUBBLES
Five course and distance wins from 10 Hong Kong starts. Started season rated 77 with Class 3 win and added Class 2 score next time. Two defeats at farther included 4th in January��s HKG1 Hong Kong Classic Mile. Boxed in and ran on late for 2nd to Amazing Kids in Class 2 1200m in February. Impressive win in Class 1 late March. Dominant win over Amazing Kids in HKG2 Sprint Cup latest. Races handy. Relishes fast going and scored on heavy in Australia.

STRONG>8. MONGOLIAN SATURDAY
Breakthrough G1 win in October 31 Breeders�� Cup Turf Sprint (1100m). That was far and away the standout of his seven career wins from 32 starts. Broke maiden over 1200m in May 2013 and followed up two starts later with a mile success. Has not scored beyond 1100m since. Fair effort 5th in G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint at course and distance in December. Aborted Al Quoz Sprint bid in March due to shipping sickness.

STRONG>9. CHARLES THE GREAT
Smart 3-time course and distance winner, including 2013 G2 Jockey Club Sprint. Latest win came in HKG2 Sprint Cup (1200m) in April 2014. Moderate this term overall. Went back from wide gate and caught without cover but ran on to finish 2L 5th in November��s G2 Jockey Club Sprint (1200m). Well-beaten 5th latest to Lucky Bubbles in HKG2 Sprint Cup (1200m). No ground issues. Often runs on from deep.

STRONG>10. SUPER JOCKEY
Narrow 2nd in 2015 G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen (1200m, dirt) at Meydan, Dubai. Has 3 1200m wins from 20 starts, two on Sha Tin��s turf and one on dirt. Good 2nd first-up this term in HKG3 National Day Cup Handicap (1000m) in October. Below-par next two at course distance when 10th in both G2 Jockey Club Sprint and HKG1 Centenary Sprint Cup. Better next when close 2nd in 1000m Class 1 handicap. Injured foot early in race when brave 5th in G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen latest. Usually tracks handy. Appreciates sound surface.

STRONG>11. AMAZING KIDS
Kiwi import won soft ground 1200m maiden prior to arrival in Hong Kong. All four Hong Kong wins at course and distance. Smart Class 2 win first-up this term receiving 11lb from 2nd Strathmore. Fair 3rd to Packing Pins next upped to 1400m. Smart second under big weight returned to 1200m 13 December. Brace of wins since. Latterly got first run on boxed-in Lucky Bubbles to whom conceded 3lb. No match for that rival off levels latest when 2nd in HKG2 Sprint Cup (1200m) but ran on well. Settles mid-pack or closer. No ground worries. 

12. THEWIZARDOFOZ
Hong Kong��s Champion Griffin in 2015 with 3 from 3. Beaten first two starts this term. Slammed rivals in 1400m Class 2 on 27 December. Likely non-stayer when 5th in January��s the HKG1 Hong Kong Classic Mile. Commanding Class 1 win at 1400m in February. Set for G1 Queen��s Silver Jubilee Cup (1400m) later that month but withdrawn due to a setback. Sits handily. Handles ease and best on sound surface.

3. STRATHMORE
Five-time winner with three at course and distance. Made the leap from Class 2 handicaps to G2 company in November��s Jockey Club Sprint (1200m) when ran with on to finish 6th. Close 2nd to Not Listenin��tome in 1 January HKG3 Bauhinia Sprint Trophy Handicap (1000m).  Moderate 8th in the HKG1 Centenary Sprint Cup (1200m) end of that month. Solid 3rd but no match for Lucky Bubbles in 1200m Class 1 on 20 March. Can settle back or track handily. No ground issues.

NG>14. DIVINE BOY

Opened Hong Kong account at 11th start in 1200m Happy Valley Class 3 in October. Rattled off quick hat-trick at city track before turn-of-year with a further 1200m wins in Class 3 and Class 2. Five defeats since. Failed to fire upped in distance when 8th in January��s HKG1 Hong Kong Classic Mile. Smart effort 4th to Lucky Bubbles in HKG2 Sprint Cup (1200m) latest. Races back. Best on sound surface.
