Champions Mile

DUNDONNELL (HK)
Jockey Nash Rawiller said: “There's three of him, you never quite know which one will turn up but at his best he could be competitive. From the wide draw we'll probably go forward but the key will be to ride him in his rhythm. It wouldn't concern me to lead, unless I'm instructed otherwise.”

BOW CREEK (AUS)
Cantered on the all-weather track.
Trainer John O'Shea said: “He's done well and he had an easy time this morning after his solid work yesterday. Weight-wise he's exactly where he needs to be. His optimum weight is 474 kilograms and he was 473 this morning. I'm hopeful he can run a cheeky race. He's well and so too is the other Godolphin runner, Safety Check. He looks to be in great order to my eye.”

MAURICE (JPN)
Exercised in the quarantine area as planned.

SAFETY CHECK (UAE)
Galloped on the turf course under work rider Willie Ryan, covering 1200m in 1m 21.0s (32.2, 27.3, 21.5).
Henry Plumptre, representing Godolphin, said: “Both horses, Safety Check and Bow Creek, look to have settled in really well and we're delighted to be here. Sheikh Mohammed considers it important to have runners in races like these in Hong Kong. The Mile looks strong and I'm not sure we can win it but I would think both horses have at least a place chance.”
