Club Jockey Zac Purton yesterday advised the Stewards that he underwent a minor medical procedure. The Stewards have this morning received a medical certificate informing that Jockey Purton is clear to fulfil his race riding engagements at tomorrow’s Sha Tin racemeeting.
However, Jockey Purton has advised that due to this procedure he will not be able to make the weight on Atomic Blast, a declared runner in Race 3, the South China Sea Handicap to be conducted at tomorrow’s meeting. Accordingly, the Stewards have approved for Jockey Derek K C Leung to be substituted as the rider of Atomic Blast.
