Sizzling Carnivale of Action at Happy Valley

The onset of Hong Kong’s sultry summer means it’s time to dig out your coolest outfits and get into carnival mode – especially this year when the world’s eyes will be focused on the most famous carnival city of all, Rio de Janeiro.  The Happy Wednesday Carnivale of Action will give racing fans a head start on the race nights of 1, 15 and 22 June at Happy Valley Racecourse.  The Latin fiesta will ignite Happy Valley and blend horse racing’s sporting thrills with vibrant fiesta-style performances, sporty games, Latin culinary treats and an amazing party vibe (Photos 1, 2, 3). 

Buzzing Latino performances

Happy Wednesday’s Latin atmosphere will sizzle to the best Latino band in Hong Kong, Carnivale, on stage. Backed by Cuban, Colombian and Dominican players, charismatic frontmen Jordie Guzman and Chris Polanco and their team get the party going with their infectious rhythms and great interactions with the crowds. To make the vibe even more authentic, sultry samba dancers will be performing on stage all three nights.

Unbeatable games with prizes and joyful snap

Lots of fun games with prizes are lined up at trackside, including amazing virtual sports games Kinect Sports Rivals, Shot Put Challenge and a skill-testing football game (Photo 4). Fans can take snap photos and then upload them on Facebook or Instagram with #HappyWednesdayHK. The best photos of happiest moments captured from each of the Carnivale Wednesday nights will be awarded a HK$1,000 cash voucher (Photo 5).  

Fiesta summery treats

Happy Wednesday fans are treated to fiesta-inspired dining offers at trackside kiosks.

Feel the heat at adrenaline, The Gallery and Stable Bend Terrace

adrenaline will also be getting into Carnivale mode, added carnival treats on offer, together with music from Jennifer Palor and her band. Free admission after 10pm and band show until 11:30pm.
