Dr Peter Curl, Executive Manager, Veterinary Regulation, has advised the Stewards that SIR JOHN, first standby declared starter for the Lam Tin Handicap (Race 5) to be conducted at the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 21 September 2016, has today been inadvertently treated with dexamethasone which is within the 5 day recommended withdrawal period for that medication.
Mr W Y So, the trainer of SIR JOHN, has made application for the horse to be withdrawn which has been acceded to by the Stewards and accordingly SIR JOHN was withdrawn from the stated race by order of the Stewards.
Mr So will be interviewed regarding this matter prior to the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 21 September 2016.
