The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting seven races from the Cox Plate Meeting at Moonee Valley racecourse in Melbourne on Saturday, 22 October (1st race starts 10:50am).
The Spring Racing Carnival continues at Moonee Valley this weekend with a strong programme where the feature event is the Cox Plate, the greatest weight-for-age race in Australasia. Leading the charge for this year’s contest is defending champion WINX. Voted Australian horse of the year in 2015/16, the Chris Waller-trained superstar has lost none of her appetite for winning this season and goes in search of a 13th successive victory at pattern grade.
The seven races to be simulcast on Cox Plate Day are:
Open Handicap - 955m
Moonee Valley Vase – G2 2040m for 3yo
Tesio Stakes – G3 1600m for 4yo+ fillies and mares
Schweppes Crystal Mile - G2 1600m open
Cox Plate – G1 2040m for 3yo+
Fillies Classic - G2 1600m for 3yo fillies
Moonee Valley Gold Cup – G2 2500m for 4yo+
Final declarations with barrier draws for the Cox Plate Day races will be available on the morning of Friday, 21 October.
