Please be advised that FRANCE VALOUR will be withdrawn from the stated race tomorrow morning prior to betting commencing after that horse was today reported by the Veterinary Officer to be lame due to a right front foot abscess. Mr David Hall, the trainer of HOLY STAR, which is the only standby declared starter for this race and which is weighted at 114 pounds, has requested that he be permitted to not declare a jockey at this time for HOLY STAR so as to ascertain whether any other riders become available tomorrow morning when pre-race veterinary examinations of all runners are undertaken by the Veterinary Officers.
The Stewards have acceded to Mr Hall’s request and a rider for HOLY STAR will be advised prior to betting commencing tomorrow morning.
