Dr. Curl advised that whilst the horse has improved it remains lame in the left front foot. Pure Sensation will continue to be monitored with a final decision on its suitability to race likely to be made tomorrow morning.”

PENIAPHOBIA (HK)
An easy circuit of Sha Tins inner all-weather track.

REBEL DANE (AUS)
Easy canter on the all-weather track.
Trainer Gary Portelli said: “Very happy, he's really cooled down as the week's gone on and is pretty relaxed now, which is what I wanted to see. We haven't done much at all with him....hopefully we've done enough. He does race best that way.”

NUOVO RECORD (JPN)
Worked two laps around the Sha Tin all-weather track.
Trainer Makoto Saito said: “We don’t really have any tactics for the race, we will just settle into the pack and make our move in the stretch. She was in a great mood today. She took the bit today as she neared the finish line so she wanted to go faster, she is in excellent condition.”

ONE FOOT IN HEAVEN (FR)
Pleased trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre with an improved effort in cantering around the Sha Tin all-weather under work rider Laurent Metais, covering 1000m in 1m 06.0s (13.7, 12.5, 11.5, 15.3, 13.0).  Has recovered from the subnormal blood picture which confined him to the quarantine stables sand ring earlier in the week.
Royer-Dupre said: “I have no doubt that he might lack a little for fitness but this morning he was a lot better than yesterday. His tests aren't quite back to normal but virtually. But, even though most of the work was done at home, you can't stop a horse for three days like that and not be a bit short. He could still run well but he will be lacking a little something.”

QUECHUA (SIN)
Routine canter on the all-weather track at Sha Tin, with big-race jockey Barend Vorster again in the irons.
Vorster said: “He’s in good shape, and everything has gone well with him since he left home. I’m happy with him.”

Kato said: “She is on her toes but very relaxed.  She is keen, which means she is ready for the race. She is eating very well and has weighted 470kg this morning.  She is in very good form. We will leave the decision to jockey Yutaka Take whether she would have a stall handler or not. She has been very easy to ride and answered me well.  I think she will be able to handle 2400m. There is a strong likely leader horse, and I hope she can sit behind the lead, not far from him."
