1st - Satono Crown, jockey, Joao Moreira
“I thought I had a big chance before the race, and it worked out. I tracked Silverwave early and got a clear run through. I had a lot of horse under me at the head of the stretch, and was always confident that I could get to the leader.” Told that he now had a full house of the four HKIR races on his CV, he said: “That’s great, that’s a dream.”
2nd - Highland Reel, jockey, Ryan Moore
“He has run a very good race but it's disappointed to get beaten. We pulled a long way clear and the winner is a good horse.”
Trainer, Aidan O’ Brien
“No complaints, he ran his heart out.”
3rd – One Foot In Heaven, jockey, Christophe Soumillon
“Leaving the stalls it was quite a rough race early on and there was a lot of movement all through the race. I got out OK but all through the race there were jockeys fighting for the same spot. It was a fine effort but the first two were a class above.”
4th - Nuovo Record, jockey, Yasunari Iwata
“There was no space inside of us. We had to get trail wide until the third corner, which did not leave her in her tank in the last stage of the race.”
5th - Smart Layer, jockey, Yutaka Take
“2400m was her first challenge, but she ran very vell over the distance. She is in a really good form. The track at Sha Tin suited her very much. I want to come back here with her again.”
6th - Benzini, jockey, Rosie Myers
“We didn’t get away too well and he pulled a bit hard but he kept trying so I really enjoyed the experience.”
7th - Garlingari, jockey, Stephane Pasquier
“It wasn’t a bad effort. He gave me a good turn of foot, though the ground was maybe too fast for him.”
Trainer, Corine Barande-Barbe
“He hasn't run badly but it was a bit rough for him. He finished off OK but it was a properly run 2400 metres and it perhaps is his limit trip-wise.”
8th – Quechua, jockey, Barend Vorster
“From the draw, it was very difficult. They went too fast for him early so I had to take him further back. On numerous occasions, he got checked and got further back. But he worked home well through the middle and held his own.”
9th - Flame Hero, jockey, Zac Purton
“He ran as well as he could.”
10th - Eastern Express, jockey, Silvestre de Sousa
“He wasn’t good enough.”
11th – Big Orange, jockey, Damian Lane
“He didn’t break away from the stalls that well and I just had to use him up too much early.”
12th – Silverwave, jockey, Maxime Guyon
“He didn’t pull but I felt he was a bit nervous and he just didn’t have a turn of foot today. He’s staying in training so he can do better next year.”
Trainer, Pascal Bary
“I didn't think the race at Chantilly left too much of a mark on him but he ran like a tired horse and it is the end of a long season.”
13th – Helene Happy Star, jockey, Hugh Bowman
“Too much pressure for him.”
14th - Anticipation, jockey, Neil Callan
“He jumped well. The pace wasn’t that quick but when the chips were down he struggled against better opposition.”
