1st - Maurice, jockey, Ryan Moore
“There was a good pace to the race, and going down the backstretch I thought things were going well, it was just a question of finding a way through. When I asked him, he picked up, and really he got to the front almost too soon. He was a special horse at a mile, and at ten furlongs he’s even better. He has improved every time I have ridden him.”
“He is a pleasure to ride 99 percent of the time. Just before the gates opened he made it a little bit more difficult. Fortunately there was good pace in the race and halfway down the back I thought it was sitting up nicely for him and it was just a matter of finding the room. As soon as he got room and I put him into gear he just let down exceptionally well. He finished off easily and he got to the leader early and then he was just easing up really. He has improved every time I've ridden him.”
2nd - Secret Weapon, jockey, Zac Purton
“He ran a great race, he’s really come of age. He’s Hong Kong’s best mile and a quarter horse now for sure.”
3rd - Staphanos, jockey, Christophe Soumillon
“It was a very good run. At one stage I thought I would be 5th but he produced a great turn of foot to be 3rd. “
4th - Lovely Day, jockey, Hugh Bowman
“I had a perfect run. He gave me the perfect ride. He ran the best he could but was no match for Maurice.”
5th - Blazing Speed, jockey, Neil Callan
“He’s run a solid fifth. He travelled around well, the pace was solid, when I got him off the corner I thought he’d let down and run a place. But you know, he’s run well, he’s not getting any younger. It’s hard to take on those young horses coming up.”
6th – Horse Of Fortune, jockey, Silvestre de Sousa
“He ran a very good race.”
7th - Elliptique, jockey, Pierre-Charles Boudot
“We waited and my horse gave me a good turn of foot but could do no more.”
8th – Designs On Rome, jockey, Joao Moreira
“It wasn’t the worst of runs but obviously we were expecting a little bit more. The way the race was run didn’t suit him, they went too fast, spread them around and to catch them would have been far too hard.”
Trainer, John Moore
“His best days are behind him, sadly.”
9th - Queens Ring, jockey, Mirco Demuro
“It did not go well – I was drawn too wide and turned too wide – that was it.”
10th - A Shin Hikari, jockey, Yutaka Take
“He showed his race, but it was a bit disappointing.”
11th - Gun Pit, jockey, Karis Teetan
“He had a beautiful spot, they went fast and he was travelling nicely into the straight with me. When the pressure came, he just stuck on one-paced.”
12th - Helene Super Star, jockey, Gerald Mosse
“Just not good enough.”
