At the Licensing Committee Meeting conducted on 17 February 2017, the Committee resolved to grant a licence to ride in races in Hong Kong to Apprentice Jockey Matthew M F Poon for the remainder of the current 2016/2017 racing season with effect on 26 March 2017. Management has conducted a selection process as part of which all trainers were invited to submit expression of interest. It has been decided that Apprentice Poon will be allocated to Trainer David Hall upon his return to Hong Kong.
