His three wins have come over notably shorter distances than this - indeed this is his first attempt at this trip. He has been running quite well lately but does have to give weight to some potentially more progressive rivals.
Has raced just four times but the figures suggest rapid improvement each time. On last month's 2017 debut he played up before the race but once galvanised late in that 2000m Listed at Newmarket he accelerated, just failing to catch Grey Britain.
Drops down in class after finishing fourth in the Derby Trial here in April and then when third in the Derby Trial Stakes over notably further than this at Lingfield. Sure to be fancied from this stable even breeding suggests that further than this would help.
Back in the winners' enclosure on his latest start when landing an all-weather handicap over 2000m. He did well considering he had raced much too freely for most of that contest and supporters will want to see him relax early on here.
Trained at Epsom and this colt - whose three previous wins had been on the all-weather - also won at Epsom last time, gaining quite a comfortable victory. He is proven over this longer distance and still appears to be nicely handicapped.
Has competed in three maiden races, running well each time without quite managing a win. He will encounter some much more experienced rivals who have already done well in handicap company so his winning chance isn't obvious.
Returning from a three month break he gained a surprise 33-1 victory in a handicap over Ascot's straight 1600m last month, bravely poking his nose in front in a tight four-way finish. Raised 4lb by the handicapper but breeding is favourable about this longer trip.
Mister Blue Sky
From a smallish stable but one who has a great record in this race with three wins - all at generous odds. A big horse who was ridden with confidence to beat 12 rivals at Nottingham last time with his pedigree giving hopeful signs about this longer journey.
