Billy Dylan

Slowly away on his second career start 13 days ago but he kept on strongly in the closing stages to land that minor event over a slightly longer trip than this. He is clearly improving but is likely to meet some faster youngsters here.

Cardsharp
Has experience on his side, winning two of his four starts and looking effective at both 1000m and 1200m. The figures suggest that he posted a career-best last time when leading from start to finish at Beverley.

Consequences
Has plenty of speed clearly, and followed up a very encouraging start when totally outclassing his rivals as a long odds-on favourite on fast ground over this distance at Catterick. From a well respected stable.

Frozen Angel
Upgraded massively on his first start to beat previous winners here at Ascot in a fast time. He then finished second to Havana Grey in a Listed event at Sandown, though not having a great trip - getting shuffled back before coming home strongly.

Gift In Time
Well backed ahead of his debut, on soft ground at Haydock earlier this month. Showing plenty of dash next to the stands' rails he looked likely to win that 1000m Novices' event until being grabbed late on.

Havana Grey
Out of a mare who won six times at this distance, and he has shown some electric speed, romping home clear at Ayr before landing a Listed event at Sandown under a fine front-running ride. This smart colt may again try and do it from the front.

It Dont Come Easy
Fancied to win first-time-out but raced too freely on the soft ground then. Put things right second time, battling bravely to win a Conditions' race at Musselburgh on quick ground with the first two clear of the third.

Koditime
An easy Doncaster winner first time out. Up to 1200m he cruised into contention at Newbury subsequently but ran out of gas on the soft ground. Back to the minimum distance here and on expected fast ground he looks interesting.

McErin
His US trainer is hoping to repeat his win in this of 2013 even though McErin is bred to be a dirt horse and both his runs have come on that surface - including a runaway win over 900m at Keeneland. His trainer is concerned about how he takes the preliminaries.

New Empire
He improved from his first to his second start, keeping on towards the end of a sprint at Sandown last week, quite a good effort considering he had missed the break. He'll have to improved plenty in the last six days if he's to win this.

Nine Below Zero
Showed inexperience prior to his Salisbury debut but still managed to win that, then powering clear in the last 200m at Windsor, despite having to give weight to all his rivals. Clearly very speedy and happy on quick ground.

Pilkington
A well-bred type who sat prominent on his recent debut and finished best of all to land a mini-surprise over this distance on the all-weather track at Newcastle. One or two of his rivals may have underperformed that day.

Rock Of Estonia
He has won both starts though only narrowly, latterly with a front-running display on very fast ground at Bath. His rivals didn't look strong though he was giving them plenty of weight.

Santry
The best horse he's ever had according to his trainer, Santry having won both starts especially impressive second time at York when scoring easily despite a penalty. Supporters hope that he is just as happy on faster predicted ground here.

Sioux Nation
Has raced over further than this on his last three starts, easily winning a 1200m Cork maiden last month. May have found the slow ground against him in Listed company at The Curragh more recently.

True Blue Moon
An inexpensive purchase who has won both his starts and, despite continuing to show inexperience, he really picked up well to win a Listed contest on slowish ground at Naas last month.

Viscount Loftus
Only made his debut last week when - under today's brilliant jockey - he set off in front over this distance and fended off the hot favourite - who had won her only previous race - after an exciting battle at Yarmouth.

Poorauldjosephine

From a stable that has very few winners, and this first-time-starter surely has no chance here.
