Yushun Himba ¡V Form Comments

G1 - 2400m - Turf

1

Jodie

One of the most experienced horses in the Oaks, she has run eight times. While she has only won twice, she had finished third in a G3 and a G2. Other than those who have bested her are all in this race this weekend, she might not yet be up for the challenge and her breeding would suggest a mile might better suit her.

2

Chrono Genesis

Finished in top three in all five of her life time starts.  A likely favourite this coming weekend, the filly started off early winning her debut and the listed Ivy Stakes, both at 1800m and won handily before she shorted up in her most recent races. She should relish the longer distance based on her breeding and has won at Tokyo Racecourse twice in the past.

3

Contra Check

Never worse than third in her five career starts, she has easily won twice over 1800m including the G3 Flower Cup in March. She prefers firm ground and she should get that on Sunday. She didn¡¦t target the earlier mile long G1s for fillies of her caliber so it is clear her connections consider her a serious Oaks contender.

4

Schon Glanz

Broke her maiden going 1800m on her second start. She went on to win the G3 Artemis Stakes over 1600m. She finished 4th in the 1600m G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies and 5th in the 1600m G2 Tulip Sho. However, she was a disappointing 9th in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) but might enjoy getting to stretch out in the Oaks.

5

Aile Voix

While seventh in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last month, she has been placed twice in graded stakes events both as a two year old and as a three year old. Her best efforts have been over longer distances, having won well over 2000m in an allowance at the end of last year. She¡¦ll need to improve but the added distance should suit her.

6

Aqua Mirabilis

A listed winner over a mile, she has never been in a race any longer than that. In her first attempt at G1 company however she ran 13th, so she will need to have improved leaps and bounds since the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last month.

7

Shadow Diva

She has raced between 1800m - 2000m her entire career and was a close second in the 2000m G2 Flora Stakes last month at Tokyo. She has the pedigree to enjoy the distance of the Oaks and has shown aptitude at handling Tokyo Racecourse though she will still have better credentialed rivals to contend with.

8

Danon Fantasy

She was the 2018 Champion 2yo filly after having won the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies (1600m) last December. She extended her win streak to four in March when she won the  G2 Tulip Sho (1600m) but suffered her worst defeat in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last month, finished fourth. If she can bounce back from her defeat, she could be a real danger this time out. Her only start at Tokyo Racecourse was in her debut, where she finished second.

9

Win Zenobia

Smart as a two year old last summer but has yet to regain that form. She was 4th in the  G3 Artemis Stakes and 13th in the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies, both over 1600m, last fall before finished 7th in her last outing in the 2000m G2 Flora Stakes last month.

10

Curren Bouquetd'or

She was a listed winner in her last outing going 1800m and earning her a spot in this year¡¦s Oaks. It took her three starts to break her maiden but finally did so in December of last year. She runs well at Tokyo Racecourse. Though solidly beaten by a few of the horses in this race in the G3 Queen Cup (1600m) back in February, she could make for an interesting addition to an exotic bet.

11

Shigeru Pink Dia

She finished second in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last month and second to Danon Fantasy in the G2 Tulip Sho (1600m) in March. Having shown strong ability with talented company, her ability to run past a mile will be key this weekend.

12

Victoria

She won her debut over 1800m in record time but the rest of her 2yo campaign was a bit disappointing. After winning an allowance in February she went on to win the 2000m G2 Flora Stakes at Tokyo Racecourse in April. She will be stepping up in class this time out but she is undefeated as a three year old so far.

13

Loves Only You

She is undefeated in three starts, including the Oaks qualifying listed Wasurenagusa Sho over 2000m. She has shown a range of ability from 1600m - 2000m during her short career, and will be making her first start over the Tokyo track this weekend.

14

Fairy Polka

Having races three times over 2000m, this filly has some of the most experience going over longer distance. However, in her first try at graded stakes company in the G2 Flora Stakes (2000m) she finished 5th. While it wasn¡¦t too far behind the winner, she will need to step up a lot to be a factor in the Oaks.

15

No One

She captured her maiden on her fifth start but after breaking it, she went out a few short weeks later to dead heat in the G2 Fillies¡¦ Revue. However, that race was over 1400m so her ability to stay will be a major question this weekend. She finished 11th in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last month.

16

Beach Samba

Though she has not seen the winners circle since her debut last September, she has finished second in a pair of G3s and third in the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies (1600m). She finished 5th in the G1 Oka Sho (1600m) last month but she has shown ability against many of the fillies in this race. This will be her first time beyond a mile.

17

Meisho Shobu

Her only win has been over 1400m so her ability to stay is a big question going into the Oaks. The rest of her races have been over a mile though she did finish a close second in the G2 New Zealand Trophy against males.

18

Figlia Pura

She started out the year with impressive late rally in the G3 Fairy Stakes to capture the first prep of the year for the filly Triple Crown. However when it came time for the G1 Oka Sho last month she disappointed many by finished 15th. She was third in her 1800m debut but has only won over a mile to date.
