1300m ˇV Dirt

Akatsuki Joe

Two wins, two seconds in 8 starts, moving up in class after win at 1200m. First time at Tokyo. Ran 9th in only dirt race (1200m) to left.

Amaze Me

5-year-old with 2 wins and 5 placings in 16 previous starts at lower levels. Posted 5-10 since moving up to this level, and couldnˇ¦t keep pace last out in 1150m race at Fukushima. Nice track work on flat. Could surprise.

Be Quick

6-year-old racing for first time in a year. Won 3 and placed 5 times in 18 career starts. Had just moved up to this class again and posted 4th in dirt 1700m. Has been getting regular work. Return to shorter distance could surprise. Wild card.

Deputy Prime

6-year-old gelding has only one finish in top 5 in last 7 starts. Has good late speed but chronically slow at break. Not promising.

Fukuno Gluck

7-year-old with 3 wins and 6 placings in 43 career starts. Posted 8-7-9 in three starts this year after return from almost 2-month layoff. Has been getting regular work but surprises unlikely.

Kaleidoscope

4-year-old filly has 8-3-5 in three starts since moving to this level at 1200m. Missed break last out. Good late speed. Finished 3rd and 7th in two previous starts at Tokyo but has won left-turned at Niigata. Likes a slower track. Promising if breaks well.

Ken Destiny

US-bred 4-year-old successful at NAR track but has posted double-digit finishes at last two starts at Tokyo. Likely outclassed.

Kitasan Taido

4-year-old colt being given shorter distance for first time on dirt. Likes to run on or close to pace. Racing for first time since December but could surprise.

Kurino Leonor

5-year-old mare posted double-digit finishes in last seven starts, five of them at this level over 1200-1300m on dirt. Likely outclassed.

Meisho Mirai

4-year-old colt with fifth in open class at Tokyo. Dropped back to this level last summer for four unsuccessful starts. Returned this year after 4-month spell to finish second over Niigata 1200m. Second time at Tokyo. Poor out of gate but has good late speed. Can handle any going.

Meisho Sachishio

5-year-old mare moved to class above after winning at this level in March 2018. Posted 7-10 at level above, then returned here for 4-3-3-4 all at 1400m, including 4th at Tokyo last June. Is racing for first time since December. Has been getting regular work and does well directly off a spell. Popular pick.

Morgenrot

6-year-old has 3 seconds from 6 starts at this level recently, all racing to left, one in Tokyo 1300m. Has made top three in 5 of 6 Tokyo starts overall. Returned after 3-1/2 months for a 6-2 over 1200m at Chukyo and Niigata. Improvement expected. Return to Tokyo a plus. Popular pick.

Nambei Sun

6-year-old has 2 wins and 2 placings in 18 career starts. Is returning for first race in 5 months after finishing 15th in first start at this level under these conditions. Has done well coming off layoff before. Has been getting ample work.

Soul Saber

US-bred 4-year-old gelding with 2 wins in 10 starts has best a seventh since moving up to this class. First time racing to left but no surprises likely.

Stella Luce

7-year-old has had four double-digit finishes in last four starts at this level, all at Nakayama. Move to Tokyo a plus but no surprises likely.

Tiger Vogue

6-year-old finished consistently in money at lower level but has posted 8-16-14 since moving up.  Still a bit heavy but getting pool work and hard workouts. Could show improvement on third start after layoff.
