The Hong Kong Jockey Club donates HK$20 million to assist flood-hit Zhengzhou City

 

The Hong Kong Jockey Club announces it has donated HK$20 million to the Zhengzhou Municipal Government via the Liaison Office of the Central People・s Government in the HKSAR to assist Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, in rescue and relief efforts following its devastating flooding.

 

The Club・s Chairman Mr. Philip Chen today attended the cheque presentation ceremony at the Liaison Office in Hong Kong and expressed his deepest concern regarding the situation in Henan Province. Ms. Lu Xinning, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office, attended the presentation ceremony and took receipt of the cheque. 

 

Mr. Chen said: :The severe flooding caused by unprecedented rainfall in Henan has led to the tragic loss of life and the destruction of land and property. All of us at The Hong Kong Jockey Club extend our deepest condolences to those affected, and express our greatest respect to all front-line rescuers. We hope the residents of Henan can see life return to normal as quickly as possible.;
