After arriving in the assembly yard, it was noted AL QASI had lost its right front plate. AL QASI was replated and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. EXCELLENT ART was slow to begin, then lost further ground as a result of being crowded for room between GOOD BA BA and DOWN TOWN which on jumping shifted out. AL QASI was slow to begin. After the 1200 Metres, AL QASI was steadied when crowded for room between JOYFUL WINNER and SPIRITO DEL VENTO (O Peslier) which shifted in when not clear. O Peslier was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, DARJINA, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, raced tight outside THE DUKE which also was having difficulty obtaining clear running and at this time was endeavouring to shift towards the outside of FLORAL PEGASUS. Shortly after the 300 Metres, THE DUKE was bumped by DARJINA which shifted in. After the 200 Metres, THE DUKE got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of DOWN TOWN which steadied after crossing to race outside KONGO RIKISHIO. Over the concluding stages, CREACHADOIR and GOOD BA BA shifted in. Throughout the race, FLORAL PEGASUS travelled wide and without cover. DOWN TOWN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DOWN TOWN after the race did not show any significant findings. GOOD BA BA and CREACHADOIR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported KONGO RIKISHIO had lost its right front plate. |
