SELECTION

The International Panel of Senior Handicappers and Racing Officials will rank all overseas horses after the supplementary entry and will advise the HKJC of their recommendation of runners and reserves in national and international rank order. The panel will take particular account of the horses' past performances over distances close to 2,000 metres/10 furlongs.

The HKJC, after being advised by the Panel, has the authority and discretion to determine the runners and reserves for the Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup. The decision of the HKJC shall be final.

The HKJC reserves the right to spread continental representation and to call into the fields the highest ranked reserves that can complete the necessary formalities and logistics in time to participate. The HKJC also reserves the right to limit the size of the final field below the maximum number of 14 starters.

Connections of reserve horses will be continually updated on the position of their horses in the rankings to allow them to make the necessary plans and preparations.

Selection of Hong Kong entries will be decided by a Selection Panel comprising the Executive Director, Racing; Senior Handicapper; and Handicapper (Deputy) of the HKJC.

The race is limited to 14 starters; including a maximum of 10 from overseas. The HKJC may invite additional horses, which have entered / nominated, from Hong Kong or elsewhere if horses are withdrawn for any reason. Such substitutions may be made up to 11:30 am on Saturday, 21 April 2001.
