The horses listed below are some of the higher profile imports into Hong Kong over the past few months. They have all raced before.
It has not been possible to attribute new names to those horses that have been renamed as the new titles have not yet been registered. Once the new names are confirmed, however, they will be on the pages listing the 2001/2002 imports in the official race programme.
(B095) Appellation(GB) Forwood (IRE)
Black Knight (GB) Goggles (IRE)
Bowman's Crossing (IRE) Great Divide (GB)
(A365) Caracoler (ARG) King's County (IRE)
Cauvery (GB) (B091) Lionheart (SAF)
(B003) Danamite (NZ) Right Honourable (IRE)
(B019) Diamond Moon (IRE) (B001) Sunderland (GER)
(B094) Ecclesiastical (GB) (B093) Trillion Win (USA)

(B095) Appellation (GB) 1998 b c Clantime - Chablisse
Fairly useful ex-English sprinter capable of handling any surface. Registered two wins as a juvenile to peak at a mark of 93 before switching stables from Richard Hannon to Willie Jarvis last winter. Reached the frame just once from four starts as a three-year-old before being transferred to Peter Chapple-Hyam's (was owned by trainer's wife in UK) stable in Hong Kong. Should be able to hold his own in sprint handicaps here given time.

Black Knight (GB) 1998 b g Contract Law - Another Move
Was just outside Group class in England where Wendyll's brother, Sean Woods, trained him. He finished third, beaten just one length, in one Listed race but appeared not to have the scope or to really make his mark in Pattern races. Was described as "ultra game" in the Racing Post and acts on any going. Though largely tried over a mile in England, he emerged with credit three times over 2000m against some very useful horses and one can see him doing well over that trip in Hong Kong.

Bowman's Crossing (IRE) 1999 b c Dolphin Street - Biraya
Raced twice as a two-year-old in Ireland where he finished runner-up on his debut and won on his next and final start. Could well have gone onto better things there so no surprise if he makes his mark here. Sired by Dolphin Street (sire of Magnifier and Meridian Star).

(A365) Caracoler (ARG) 1996 Ringaro - Carolette
Argentine-bred gelding bought out of trainer George Woodruff's base at the Vaal in South Africa. Finished second in the Cape Derby (2000m - beaten half a length by The Sheik) and was fourth in the Cape Argus Guineas (1600m). Likely to find his niche in staying tests here.

Cauvery (GB) 1998 b c Exit To Nowhere - Triple Zee
One win from 12 runs does no justice to the level of this horse's consistency whilst he was campaigned in the UK. He finished less than a half-length behind fellow import Forwood at Newmarket last September and proved a shade vulnerable in Group company. He finished fourth in the Italian 2000 Guineas (Gr.2-1600m) in May and just failed by a head to win a Group 3 event at Epsom over a mile in June. On his last start he found fellow 2001 import, Goggles, nearly three lengths too strong in a Listed contest at Goodwood.

(B003) Danamite (NZ) 1997 b c Danasinga - Imposing Choice
Proved himself a model of consistency in some of the past season's leading Group 1 events for three-year-olds finishing third in the New Zealand Guineas, second in the Canterbury and Rosehill Guineas (both 1600m) and third in AJC Derby (2400m). Best on a sound surface and you'd have to expect him to make a big impact in his new home.

(B019) Diamond Moon (IRE) 1998 ch c Brief Truce - Diamond Sun
Ex-German trained colt that has joined the Francis Lui team. Best piece of form was a fast-finishing fourth-placed run behind Royal Dragon in the German 2,000 Guineas in May. Out of a sprinting dam although Brief Truce's progeny are capable of getting 2000m, therefore he could shape into being a Derby contender given the necessary progress.

(B094) Ecclesiastical (GB) 1998 b c Bishop Of Cashel - Rachael Tennessee
Having been a bit backward as a juvenile, Ecclesiastical looked a lot more like the finished article as a three-year-old winning a maiden, a competitive mile handicap at Haydock and finishing runner-up in another big mile handicap at Royal Ascot. His former trainer James Fanshawe reckoned good ground and a mile suited him well. Ivan Allan has purchased him for Larry Yung with the 2002 Hong Kong Derby foremost in their thoughts.

Forwood (IRE) 1998 b c Charnwood Forest - Silver Hut
Smart juvenile in England when trained by Michael Jarvis. Won his first two starts before running very respectably at Newmarket (was beaten just a length) by the top class duo of King Charlemagne and Grandera. Though neither of his two runs (both in good company) as a three-year-old particularly caught the eye, the fact remains that he is open to considerable improvement in Hong Kong.

Goggles (IRE) 1998 b c Eagle Eyed - Rock On
By Eagle Eyed, a full brother to champion stallion Danehill, Goggles was a Listed race winner on his final start for Henry Candy in the UK with fellow import Cauvery over two and a half lengths further behind. This was the second time he measure of Cauvery. Game and reliable performer that has performed best on fast ground to produce his best. 1600m has thus far proven to be his optimum distance.

Great Divide (GB) 1999 b c Piccolo - Thorner Lane
Caused a bit of a surprise winning a 1400m maiden on good ground on his debut at Cork, Ireland in June by a commanding two-length margin. His full brother, Dunedin Rascal, was a winner on fast ground in Ireland and on a slow all-weather surface in the UK in the past twelve months.

King's County (IRE) 1998 b c Fairy King - Kardelle
Has taken the same route to David Oughton's stable via Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle establishment in Co Tipperary as last season's high-class recruit, Good Heavens. King's County held top class juvenile form when the son of Fairy King (also sire of Red Zone, Chutzpah, Conjuring) finished runner-up in three Group 1s in Ireland, France and Italy. Handles any going and possesses enough class - at least on paper - to maybe turn out a Hong Kong Vase contender one day if not this year.

(B091) Lionheart (SAF) 1997 bl. c Fort Wood - Blakes Affair
Formerly-raced in South Africa where from 5 starts he won once and finished second twice for trainer Roy Magner. Won a maiden on his fifth and final start over 2000m on April 1.

Right Honourable (IRE) 1998 Rainbows For Life - Church Light
Tough ex-Irish performer; won a well contested handicap at Leopardstown in July on good ground over 1800m. His strong finishing style over that trip suggests that he is sure to see out 2000m in Hong Kong - winning half-brothers have won over plenty further as well and, noticeably, taken a lot of racing, also. Should be up to winning in Class 1 company once he has acclimatised.

(B001) Sunderland (GER) 1997 b c Emarati - See Me Well
Tough ex-Irish performer; won a well contested handicap at Leopardstown in July on good ground over 1800m. His strong finishing style over that trip suggests that he is sure to see out 2000m in Hong Kong - winning half-brothers have won over plenty further as well and, noticeably, taken a lot of racing, also. Should be up to winning in Class 1 company once he has acclimatised.

(B093) Trillion Win (USA) 1997 b.br.g American Standard - Scarletts Revenge
Attention! Not to be confused with the New Zealand-bred Ivan Allan-trained Trillion Win!This is a real speedball that has been imported by Robert Ng Chee-siong to replace Daliapour. He almost stole the Singapore Airlines Krisflyer Sprint (1200m) with devastating early pace in May only to be cut down in the dying strides by the ex-French trained colt, Iron Mask. Holds the 1200m track record at Kranji where he has an excellent record of 9-4-0-1 from 14 starts. He should be well capable of making his mark at the highest level in Hong Kong.
