After the long summer break, the Jockey Club has prepared a number of programmes as a prelude to the new season. A one-hour season opening special programme will be broadcast at 2400 hours on 30 August 2001, introducing a number of trainers and potential horse stars in the coming season. A half-hour programme will be shown at 2230 hours on 1 September 2001 to look back at a number of exciting races last season. For game show and racing fans, there will be a special racing edition of the popular "Who wants to be a Millionaire" show on 31 August 2001 to usher in the new season.
